The first teaser for Nathan Fielder, Benny Safdie and A24‘s upcoming series, The Curse is here.
The creepy one-minute teaser offers a first look at Fielder and co-star Emma Stone as Asher and Whitney Siegel, a husband-and-wife duo that hosts the HGTV show Flipanthropy. The two are seen filming an introduction for their show and repeating it a second time, with only silence in between, and eerie music gets louder and louder in the background.
Despite the couple’s big break and their hopes to have a child, all is not well for the house-flipping duo. Whitney and Asher, based in Española, N.M., are soon faced with a mysterious curse that will “disturb the relationship.”
Co-created and written by The Rehearsal’s Fielder and Uncut Gems’ Benny Safdie, The Curse is a wacky upcoming dark comedy about an alleged curse that eats away at the relationship of two newlyweds who run a problematic new HGTV show.
The first three episodes of The Curse will premiere at the New York Film Festival, which runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 15. The Curse is set for release on Showtime on Friday, November 10.
