Talks on the contract that could potentially end the Hollywood writers’ strike are set to resume next week, as per the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
The AMPTP, which act as the representative of studios, streaming services and production companies in union negotiations, said that they had reached out to the Writers Guild of America, with both the parties set to resume their negotiations next week. However, no further specifications have been shared.
“Every member company of the AMPTP is committed and eager to reach a fair deal, and to working together with the WGA to end the strike,” the statement said. However, no such talks are to be initiated with regards to the actors strike.
It is to be noted that the writers have been on strike for over four months over issues including pay, job security and regulating the use of artificial intelligence. While a talk was initiated earlier, it did not materialise successfully.
