Ahead of the release of the fourth and final season of Sex Education, streaming platform Netflix teased fans by releasing episode guides for the hit series.

The teasers were accompanied by the runtimes for each instalment, with the finale clocking in at 83 minutes as opposed to the standard length of around 55 minutes. Season four will have a total of eight episodes.

In the finale of Season 3, Moordale students received news that they must seek education elsewhere. Consequently, Otis (Asa Butterfield), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), and their peers enrolled in Cavendish Sixth Form College, which is vastly different from Moordale. Concurrently, Maeve (Emma Mackey) embraced an exciting opportunity in the United States. Back home, Otis and Jean (Gillian Anderson) acclimated to life with a new addition to their family.

The fourth season sees a lot of casting shifts in the series as many from the earlier cast announced their departure. Emma Mackey who plays Maeve, Ncuti Gatwa who aces the role of Eric and many others including Rakhee Thakrar, Simone Ashley, Tanya Reynolds and Patricia Allison have said their byes to the show.

The show also has major casting shifts as a new addition to the cast, including Jodie Turner-Smith, Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham, Marie Reuther, Alexandra James, Anthony Lexa, Felix Mufti, and Imani Yahshua.

The fourth season will follow the journey of the students in the new school and will be the final season of the show that was first released on the platform on January 11, 2019.

Laurie Nunn, creator of the famous Netflix show released a letter to the fans on July 5, announcing the end of the saga. “We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making every episode,” she wrote in the note. “They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.” “Goodbyes are the worst but let's celebrate the good times we've had,” she added.

The recurring cast of the series includes Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson Connor Swindells, Alistair Petrie, Kedar Williams-Stirling, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Mimi Keene, and Samantha Spiro. 

The final season of Sex Education will hit Netflix on September 21.
