Actor Ncuti Gatwa, who was seen in Barbie, opened up about his show Sex Education drawing to an end with season four this month.

In an interview with Elle, the actor said how playing his character Eric healed him. "Shout out to [screenwriter] Laurie Nunn for giving nuance to this gay, Black character and gifting him to the world. He’s so fierce and unashamed. It was healing for me, and great for people to see themselves represented. It taught me the importance of representation: it’s so powerful and necessary,” he was quoted as saying.

The actor also shared about identifying himself queer similar to his character in the film. Ncuti also revealed how the role "undid a lot of the internalized hate" he had. Recalling the brunt of racism, the actor mentioned, "It makes you think everyone has that opinion and you’ll constantly have to fight through life – then you learn that you don’t: you can find a tribe, you can find your people."

Sex Education season four is set to premiere on September 21. Meanwhile, the actor will also be seen as theFifteenth Doctor in the upcoming season of Doctor Who.
