The upcoming Pixar movie Elio will no longer be released next year as the animated movie has been pushed to a release date in 2025.

Directed by Adrian Molina, who penned and co-directed the Academy Award-winning animation Coco, Elio was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on March 1, 2024.

Walt Disney Studios announced that the Elio's release date has been changed from March 1, 2024, to June 13, 2025. That means the next Pixar movie will now be Inside Out 2 on June 14, 2024.

Not just Elio, even Rachel Zegler's live-action Snow White movie is getting delayed by a year from March 22, 2024, to March 21, 2025.

These changes in release dates come as the actors' strike has stretched past 100 days. Earlier this week, Disney’s Bob Iger and other Hollywood CEOs told SAG-AFTRA that the deadline is all but upon them in terms of having to decide which films to push if the two sides can’t come to a resolution. Multiple sources say that the deadline is the first week of November, if not Nov 1.

The official synopsis of the film read, " For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers. And once the universe calls back! The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
