Christopher Nolan's directorial venture Oppenheimer has been setting the cash registers ringing at the worldwide box office since the film's release on July 21. The film has been in theatres for over three months, and it has recently been learned that it has earned an astounding amount of $618.3 million from the international box office alone. When combined with the US domestic box office, the total revenue comes to  $942 million, and it is set to surpass the $1 billion mark

Oppenheimer is based on the life of Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist who is called the 'father of the atomic bomb' and his role in the Manhattan Project during World War II. Oppenheimer has been credited as the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, a place known for assembling bombs.

Cillian Murphy stars as the titular character, marking his debut as a lead in Nolan's films. He has earlier appeared in the director's Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Dunkirk, to name a few. Apart from Cilian, Oppenheimer also stars Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, and Kenneth Branagh, among others.
