Actor Jenna Ortega who shot to fame for her role in and as Wednesday, will not be returning for Scream VII. The actor's exit is due to the conflict in her shooting schedule of Wednesday S2, unabling her to make dates for the Scream franchise.

The news of Jenna's exit comes a day after her co-star Melissa Barrera was fired because of her social media posts about Israel and Palestine.

While Jenna' exit is not fuelled by Melissa's exit, the production for Wednesday S2 have not yet been confirmed. Besides Wednesday, she also has Tim Burton's Beetlejuice 2.

Jenna played the role of Tara Carpenter, sister of Melissa's Sam Carpenter in Scream VI. Christopher Landon is helming Scream VII.

The last installment, Scream VI, was released in March. The slasher film also starred Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, among others. It was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
