Netflix released the first looks of actors Theo James and Kaya Scodelario who are set to play the lead roles in the upcoming drama series titled The Gentlemen. The film comes from director Guy Ritchie and is inspired by the hit film of the same name which came out in 2019, helmed by Guy.
The series will premiere sometime in 2024.
The original film starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant among others. The film follows an American cannabis wholesaler in England who wants to sell his empire, thus sparking a chain of blackmails and schemes against him.
While the original cast is not expected to return, the series will also feature Vinnie Jones, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Peter Serafinowicz, Giancario Esposito, among others.
Guy will serve as creator, co-writer and executive producer of the series, along with directing the first two episodes. Netflix, Moonage Pictures and Miramax TV are the producers.
