Walt Disney Animation Studios' Wish is all set to hit theatres this Friday. The lead characters of the upcoming animated film, namely Asha and King Magnifico, have been voiced by Ariana DeBose and Chris Pine.

In a recent interview, Chris Pine opened up about being nervous while working with Ariana. To this, Ariana said, "He can sing! He can absolutely sing. When I found out that I was cast in this film, I was like, 'Oh!' I mean, did you see him in Into The Woods? ...I think Chris is one of those examples of not understanding just how talented he is."

She also shared that fans will be surprised when they hear Pine's work in Wish, saying, "I love the sound of his voice, the way that he moulds words. He is a delicious villain. You know people are going to love to hate him, and I just love watching him work."

Wish will follow the story of a young girl named Asha, who, on realising the darkness in her kingdom, makes a wish to the wishing star, in a moment of desperation. Her wish is so powerful that the Universe answers with a little star of boundless energy called, Star. Together, Asha and Star work to defeat the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico, to save her community.

Alan Tudyk voices the character of Asha’s favourite goat, Valentino. Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn are the directors of Wish. They have previously directed films like Frozen and Zootopia, respectively. The film is set to release on November 24, 2023.
