Zayn Malik to write new song for animated film 10 Lives

Zayn Malik is currently writing a new song for 10 Lives, the upcoming animated feature. He will be performing the duet with Bridgerton actor Simone Ashley, as per a report on Variety. 

Malik and Ashley will also star as voice actors in 10 Lives. With Malik voicing two characters, the tough-guy twins namely Cameron and Kirk, Ashley will lend her voice to a student named Rose. 

Malik is also an executive music producer on 10 Lives, and he is in charge of the film's musical creative direction. The musician is currently working with Mercury Records on his next studio album. 

10 Lives, helmed by Chris Jenkins of Surf's Up fame, will revolve around a cat, who is selfish because of all the pampering he gets, and he takes his many lives for granted. He loses nine lives this way and realises the worth of what has been lost. While he begs for a second chance and gets it, it doesn't come without its own problems.  

Bill Nighy, Mo Gilligan, Sophie Okonedo, Dylan Llewellyn and Jeremy Swift round out the voice cast of 10 Lives. The film is all set to have a screening at the upcoming AFM 2023. 

A release date for 10 Lives is yet to be announced.
