Morfydd Clark, who plays a significant role in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, shares some insights about the upcoming season
Back to Middle-earth

It was recently announced that Amazon Prime Video's ambitious high-fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has wrapped up filming its second season. The series is based on the works of JRR Tolkien, set thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings series. In the first season, Morfydd Clark played the younger version of the elf Galadriel, originally portrayed by Cate Blanchett in the Peter Jackson films.

While the first season showed Galadriel going in search of Sauron to avenge her brother's death, details about her future in the series are being kept under tight wraps. Morfydd Clark reveals how she cannot wait to get back on sets for more seasons. She says, “I've always wanted to do something where I could revisit a character because you feel kind of a grief when you say goodbye to them. And so, I was really excited by the idea that I could be with this character for years and see her change.”

The actor further added, “It's something that I hadn't done before, and being on stage, being in a movie, being kind of one-off in a series, or being in it completely from season to season, it's so radically different. And so, really, this was an itch I really wanted to scratch. I can't believe that I've got to be in a recurring character, and she's Galadriel."

While the identity of Sauron was revealed by the end of season 1, Clark tells us that in season 2, Middle-earth could be facing more than just one threat. "What I can tease about season 2 is there are some very interesting villains coming.”
