First look of Red, White and Royal Blue out

Earlier, we reported that Tony award-winner Matthew Lopez's directorial debut, Red, White & Royal Blue is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 11. On Thursday, the streaming platform released the first look poster from the film, which is an adaptation of Casey McQuiston's bestselling novel of the same name. 

The first look poster of Red, White & Royal Blue shows Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitizine as Alex and Harry, sitting together on a couch. While Zakhar Perez is seen wearing socks with the American flag on them, Galitizine is suited up in the traditional royal British outfit. 

Red, White & Royal Blue, which is an LGBTQ+ romance drama, is about a star-crossed power couple — the Latine character of Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the president of the United States, and his relationship with Prince Henry, grandson of the Queen of England.

Alex's mother and President Ellen Claremont is essayed by Uma Thurman. Stephen Fry, Rachel Hilson, Sarah Shahi, Clifton Collins Jr., Aneesh Sheth, Polo Morin, Ellie Bamber, Ahmed Elhaj, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Thomas Flynn, and Malcolm Atobrah round out the rest of the ensemble cast. Matthew Lopez has written the screenplay from a previous draft by Ted Malawer.

Berlanti/Schechter Films' Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will be producing the film with Michael McGrath serving as the executive producer.
