Actor Florence Pugh is best known for her performance-oriented roles that have spanned from 2016's Lady Macbeth to the horror film Midsommar and the biographical sports film Fighting with My Family, among many others. In 2021, the actor joined Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU)  as Yelena Belova in Black Widow. The actor recently revealed that although she considered the Marvel entry a huge career achievement, not all thought the same when she landed her role.

In an interview with Time magazine, The Little Women actor said that some people in the independent film community were “really pissed off” about her decision to join Marvel. 

They were like, ‘Great, now she’s gone forever, and I’m like, ‘No, I’m working as hard as I used to work. I’ve always done back-to-back movies. It’s just people are watching them now. You just have to be a bit more organized with your schedule."

During a previous interview with Total Film magazine, the actor expressed, "There’s beauty in all types of those films" while responding to concerns that she may never return to smaller films.

Pugh, who also appeared in the Disney+ show Hawkeye, has a slew of films lined up, including, A Good Person, directed by Zach Braff, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two.
