First look poster for Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City is here

The first look poster for Wes Anderson’s upcoming film Asteroid City has been released online. The unconventional poster is made in the form of a painting depicting the arid landscape of the American west with a billboard that shows a giant asteroid crater. The poster was devoid of any characters. 

It was recently revealed that the film will have a US theatrical release on 16 June and a wider international release on 23 June. The official synopsis of the film reads: Set in a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and it's Junior Stargazer convention, the film brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest and recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more.

The star-studded cast of the film includes Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, Grace Edwards, Aristou Meehan, Sophia Lillis, Ethan Lee, Jeff Goldblum, and Rita Wilson.
