Netflix's Transatlantic trailer out 

The trailer of Transatlantic, the upcoming period miniseries by Netflix, was released by the makers. The series takes inspiration from two American underdog heroes, who rose to the occasion and saved many refugees to escape Europe during the World War II, by developing underground rescue operation.

“Two Americans and their allies form a scrappy rescue operation in 1940 Marseilles to help artists, writers and other refugees fleeing Europe during WWII,” reads the synopsis of the series.

The series is set against the 1940-41 backdrop and was shot completely in France's Marseille. Julie Orringer's novel The Flight Portfolio serves as an inspiration. The series will consist of seven episodes and will premiere on April 7.

Created by Anna Winger and Daniel Hendler, Transatlantic is backed by the former and Camille McCurry under Airlift Productions. Stéphanie Chuat, Véronique Reymond and Mia Meyer serve as directors.

Corey Stoll, Gregory Montel, Ralph Amoussou, Deleila Piasko, Amit Rahav, Moritz Bleibtreu, Alexander Fehling, Jonas Nay, Lolita Chammah, Luke Thompson, Jodhi May, Rafaela Nicolay and Henriette Confurius are part of the cast.
