Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, will pen the screenplay for the upcoming yet-to-be titled Star Wars film, following the departure of screenwriters Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson.

Expected to be among the first Star Wars films from Lucasnfilm, since the 2019 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the details of the upcoming project is kept under wraps. However, it is speculated that more information about the film will be revealed during the Star Wars Celebration in London in April

Steven had predominantly worked in crime dramas like Dirty Pretty Things (2002), Eastern Promises (2007) and later worked in other genres like dramedies, war thrillers, and biopics. He also served as executive produced and created BBC period crime drama Peaky Blinders.

It is to be noted that Damon and Justin, had submitted a draft earlier this year, but later left the project in Februar, becoming the latest to part ways with Lucasfilm after signing on to develop one or multiple new Star Wars film projects.
