A documentary on renowned Amercian actor and producer Mary Tyler Moore is in the making at HBO. The feature titled Being Mary Tyler Moore, is helmed by filmmaker James Adolphus and will trace the personal and professional highs of Mary spanning across six decades.

The upcoming documentary will have her family members, colleagues, and others who have known Moore. It will also include directors Rob Reiner, Michael Lindsay-Hogg, and Jim Burrows, along with actors Ed Asner, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lena Waithe, Phylicia Rashad, Bernadette Peters, and Joel Grey.

Others who will be part of the documentary include Allan Burns, James L Brooks, Norman Lear, Debra Martin Chase, Treva Silverman, Susan Silver, and Moore’s husband, S Robert Levine.

Being Mary Tyler Moore will also explore how women were portrayed on TV and the influence she had on the entertainment industry.

The documentary will release on HBO in May and will also stream on HBO Max. It will be produced by Ben Selkow, Waithe, Rishi Rajani, Martin Chase, Andrew C. Coles, and Laura Gardner.
