Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis will star in the upcoming dark Western thriller The Thicket. The film is based on the novel of the same name written by Joe R Lansdale. Tubi has begun production on the project in Calgary, Canada, with Dinklage also serving as producer.
The Thicket is said to follow Jack, an innocent young man's pursuit to rescue his sister Lula who gets kidnapped by the violent killer Cut Throat Bill and her gang. Jack takes the help of a bounty hunter, Reginald Jones, who is an alcoholic, son of an ex-slave and a street-smart prostitute, to save his sister. They find the Cut Throat Bill in an unknown land known as The Big Thicket- a place where blood and chaos reign.
The Thicket is reportedly Dinklage's longtime passion project. The film will be directed by Elliot Lester, from a script penned by Christopher Kelly. The Thicket will also star Juliette Lewis, Esme Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Macon Blair, Ned Dennehy, Andrew Schulz, Arliss Howard, and Metallica's James Hetfield.
The Thicket currently doesn’t have a release date set.
