Brad Pitt halts production of F1 film to extend solidarity to SAG-AFTRA strike

Earlier, we reported that Brad Pitt is part of the upcoming film on Formula One racing at the British Grand Pix.

The latest update is that the filming has been halted as Brad is extending his solidarity with the Screen Actor's Guild, who voted earlier this month to go on strike alongside the Writer's Guild of America - with the industrial action causing productions to close down on both sides of the Atlantic. It is reported that his decision to support the strike has been backed by the rest of the film's crew. The production is said to be postponed by two months. 

 Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film also be produced by Kosinski along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films, seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton through his Dawn Apollo banner, and Plan B. 

The yet-to-be-titled film also stars Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, and Tobias Menzies in pivotal roles. The film features Pitt as a former Formula One driver who returns to the sport as a member of the fictional APXGP team, with Idris as his teammate. Reports suggest that Javier will play the role of the owner of the team and a friend of Brad Pitt's character.
