First image from Chris Pine's Poolman out 

The first image from Poolman, starring Chris Pine in the lead role, has been released online. The film is directed by the actor himself, marking his directorial debut. In the film, Pine plays the character named Darren Barrenman. The first look image sees a shirtless Pine with long hair, sporting a pair of sunglasses and a headset while holding pool cleaning equipment.

Billed to be a mystery comedy, the film's synopsis read, "Barrenmen is a hapless dreamer and would-be philosopher who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block in sunny LA. When he uncovers the greatest water heist, he does what he can to protect his precious LA."

Poolman has a script that Pine co-wrote with Ian Gotler, and the duo have co-produced the film with Stacey Sher and Patty Jenkins. 

Poolman also stars  Danny DeVito, Annette Bening, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ariana DeBose, and DeWanda Wise. 

The film is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
