On Friday, Marvel Studios released the trailer of The Marvels, the upcoming film featuring Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. The film is slated to hit theatres on November 10.
Set in the aftermath of Captain Marvel defeating the Kree and the Supreme Intelligence, the trailer established that she is tasked with protecting a destabilised universe as she is confronted and challenged by Dar-Benn, an Accuser of the Kree empire. Eventually, Captain Marvel ends up in a wormhole that links her to two other superheroes: Kamala Khan/Ms Marvel, and Captain Monica Rambeau, Captain Marvel's estranged niece. The three women must work together to learn how to control their entangled powers and save the universe.
The Marvels feature Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Ms Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta, the first black woman and fourth woman to helm a film in MCU. The director co-wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.
Besides the lead characters, Park Seo-Joon, best known for the Academy Award-winning film Parasite, also plays a prominent character in the film.
