Eli Roth's Borderlands gets a release date

We know that filmmaker Eli Roth, who is best known for helming the horror films such as Cabin Fever (2002) and Hostel (2005), is developing a film titled, Borderlands, a live-action adaptation of the video game of the same. The latest update is that the film will hit the theatres on August 9, 2024. 

Billed to be a science fiction comedy film, Borderlands has a script Eli Roth co-wrote with Joe Crombie. 

Produced by  Ari Arad, Avi Arad, and Erik Feig, Borderlands features an ensemble cast including Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Florian Munteanu, Bobby Lee, Cheyenne Jackson, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

In the film, Blanchett plays the role of Lilith, an infamous treasure hunter who accidentally meets with the most powerful man in the universe, Atlas (Edgar Ramirez) lost daughter. Lilith, along with a team of misfits consisting of Roland (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt),  Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Claptrap (Jack Black), square off with all the hazards surrounding the missing girl to protect her, in anticipation of unimaginable power.
