Kenneth Branagh to direct Gargoyles live-action adaptation

A live-action adaptation of the 1990's popular animated series Gargoyles is in the works. Now it is to be learned that, Oscar-winning actor-filmmaker Kenneth Branagh will be directing the upcoming film. 

More information regarding the movie has not been released yet. It has also been learned that any future progress will be based on the outcome of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Gargoyles hailed from the Walt Disney Television Animation, in collaboration with Jade Animation and Tama Productions, first aired in 1994, and the show ran till 1997. The series' original voice cast comprised Keith David, Jonathan Frakes, Ed Asner, Salli Richardson, Marina Sirtis, and Bill Faggerbakke.

Previously, various filmmakers had their share of attempts to create live-action adaptations. Including X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner and Wolverine and The X-Men writer Zoe Green, David Elliot and Paul Lovett, the writers behind G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and  Jordan Peele. However, the attempts didn't materialise.

Meanwhile, on the direction front, Kenneth Branagh's next outing will be A Haunting in Venice, and it is slated for a release on September 15,  and on the acting front, he will next be seen in Christopher Nolan's upcoming biopic Oppenheimer.
