Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny crosses $300 million worldwide

The fifth instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, crossed $300 million at the global box office.

According to, Collider, the film, which mounted on a whooping budget of 300 million, struggles to be a total success.

Unlike other films in the franchise, James Mangold, known for directing The Wolverine and Ford v Ferrari, took over as the director of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny from Steven Spielberg.

The film was released in theatres on June 30 and opened to mixed reception," The Dial of Destiny goes to places one wouldn't have thought of at all, but it makes complete sense in retrospect. The final act is a lot of fun and exactly what makes Indiana Jones what it is. However, amidst all those entertaining stretches that are not just fun but also heartwarming considering the weight on the film, there were also stretches where The Dial of Destiny was just a flatline," reads an excerpt of a CE review of the film.

Executive-produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is Harrison Ford's last time playing the titular character.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny also features Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, John Rhys-Davies, Boyd Holbrook, Antonio Banderas, Toby Jones, and Thomas Kretschmann. The film is the first film in the franchise not directed by Steven Spielberg, who will produce instead. James Mangold directs the movie from a script he wrote with Jez Butterworth and John Henry Butterworth.
