Elemental mints big at the global box office 

Disney-Pixar's recent animation-fantasy film, Elemental, crosses $300 million worldwide.

According to Collider, the film is expecting a box office sum between $420 million to $500 million.

Elemental follows the romance of a water element named Wade and a fire element Ember in an imaginative city, Elemental City, where all the elements, including air, earth, water and fire, co-exist.   

The film, which hit the theatres in the mid-June, opened to mixed reviews, " Despite building on a formulaic couture, the film maintains its appeal due to its impressive imagery and exceptional music," reads an excerpt from the CE review of the film 

Elemental features an ensemble voice cast including Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively, are Ronnie del Carmen as Ember's soon-to-be-retired dad, Bernie; Shila Ommi as Ember's love-seeking mom, Cinder; Wendi McLendon-Covey as Wade's stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine O'Hara as Wade's welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer as Ember's admiring earth neighbour, Clod; and Joe Pera as an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern.

Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, p.g.a., and executive produced by Pete Docter, Elemental features a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh. The film's original score was composed and conducted by Thomas Newman.
