On Tuesday, the makers of Timothee Chalamet's Wonka released the film's trailer. The film is a prequel to the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and its original film adaptation.

The trailer starts by effectively introducing Chalamet as Willy Wonka, the man who does everything in his capacity to invent the most delicious and unique kind of chocolate. As he struggles to set up a chocolate shop amongst his rivals in the business, Wonka introduces the 'flying chocolate' which makes the eater defy the laws of gravity and fly. The trailer of Wonka promises a hilarious and amusing peek into the story of Willy Wonka.

The much-hyped film is helmed by Paul King with a script he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby. As Timothee essays the eponymous character, the rest of the cast includes Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Olivia Colman, Jim Carter, Matt Lucas, and Natasha Rothwell, among others. Hugh Grant will be essaying the character of Oompa-Loompa.

The 1964 novel is authored by Roald Dahl, and it tells the story of Willy Wonka, a renowned chocolatier who gained worldwide fame for his creative chocolate and candy-making techniques. The book was previously adapted on screen in 1971 as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, where Gene Wilder essayed the role of Willy Wonka, and in 2003 as  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where Johnny Depp played the chocolatier.

The film is slated to release on December 15.
