The trailer of The Nun 2, the upcoming horror thriller film from The Conjuring universe was released by the makers on social media. The film will also serve as a sequel to the 2018 film The Nun. The film is set to release in theatres on September 8.
The upcoming sequel is set four years after the events of The Nun. The first part showed Sister Irene and Father Burke probing a nun's death in Romania. As they confront Valak, the ghost escapes only to possess delivery man Maurice, whose exorcism was performed by Ed and Lorraine Warren.
The trailer shows that the film is set in 1956 with a girl witnessing a mysterious death of a priest. While Sister Irene is shown to be at the helm of handling the evil, the trailer promises immense horror in The Nun 2.
The Nun 2 will star Storm Reid, Taissa Farmiga, Anna Popplewell, Bonnie Aarons, Jonas Bloquet, among others. Directed by Michael Chaves, the film is penned by Akela Cooper, Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing.
