Tom Hiddleston-led The Night Manager has been renewed for a second season, seven years after its debut in 2016. The miniseries is an adaptation of a 1993 novel of the same name, written by John le Carré.

The script for the second season is expected to be written by David Farr, who penned the first season's script. The filming for the second season of The Night Manager is reported to begin later this year.

Tom Hiddleston will be returning in the sequel season as Jonathan Pine, who gets engaged in a battle of wills with arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) in the first season. The first season ended with the arrest of Roper by the Egyptian authorities. The second season will begin with Pine learning about the death of Roper and then being challenged with a new set of deadlier tasks.

The second season of The Night Manager will also be co-produced by BBC, like the first season. The second season will however be produced and aired on Prime Video, as opposed to AMC co-producing and airing the first season.

The first season of The Night Manager also starred Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, Alistair Petrie and Natasha Little among others. The filming of The Night Manager season 2 will be happening in London and South America later this year.
