Second season of Netflix series Uncoupled moves to Showtime 

Earlier this year, Netflix cancelled comedy series Uncoupled after its first season. In what may come as a development, streamer Showtime has picked up the series and renewed for a second season. 

Hailing from MTV Entertainment Studios, the series is created by Darren Star, who made Emily in Paris and Modern Family-fame Jeffrey Richman. Uncoupled was sacked by Netflix as it failed to register in the streaming service's top 10 rankings.

The series is headlined by Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Michael Lawson. The actor plays a newly single Manhattanite navigating the dating scene for the first time in 17 years after getting abruptly dumped by his long-term partner. Apart from Neil Patrik Harris, the series also stars Tuc Watkins, Tisha Campbell, Marcia Gay Harden, and Brooks Ashmanskas.

According to Deadline, Showtime aims for 'culturally diverse' content as it is shifting its programming focus while merging with Paramount+.
