Netflix releases first look of Jada Pinkett Smith's new documentary series 

Actor Jada Pinkett Smith is set to executive produce and narrate a new documentary series for Netflix, titled African Queens: Njinga, the streaming platform made the announcement on Thursday. 

As per Netflix, the upcoming documentary series will explore the lives of iconic African Queens, who the streaming platform describes as “complex, captivating and fearless”, set in the 17th century. 

The streaming platform also released a teaser of sorts of the documentary, showing how women of the clan try to defend their territories and stay protective about their land, with all the courage. 

The series will premiere on February 15. It will feature Adesuwa Oni as the lead of the documentary which will showcase the rise of the young princess learning to rule, to becoming a warrior queen who goes on to protect the people of her land from the Portuguese. 

The documentary will consist of four episodes.
