Bad Boys 4 officially in pre-production 

Bad Boys actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have confirmed that the fourth instalment of the film series is in pre-production. They took to Instagram to share the news with a reel. Sony Pictures has also confirmed that the tentatively untitled project is in the early pre-production stage at the studio. 

Earlier, rumours suggested that the fourth film was held because of the infamous Oscar incident with Chris Rock and Will Smith. However, Sony Production's Tom Rothman disputed the claim and confirmed that the film is in development. 

Directors Adil El Arbi and Billall Fallah will be returning to direct the fourth instalment. El Arbi and Fallah served as the executive producers of Ms Marvel and also directed the pilot and the finale of the series. Chris Bemmer will be writing the script for Bad Boys 4. 

The Bad Boys franchise is 25 years old. The first film in the series came out in 1995. Its sequel was released seven years later in 2003. But the third instalment took about 17 years to hit the screens. Bad Boys For Life is about two detectives solving a series of murders.
