Kapil Talwalkar will not return for S2 of Night Court

Kapil Talwalkar will not be seen in the second season of Night Court which is gearing up for its premiere on Peacock on January 2. Talwalker, who played court clerk Neil in the first season, has quit the series due to creative differences.

Talkwalkar's Neil was an important character in the show, as a prospective romantic future was being hinted at between the series' lead Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch) and him, after things fizzled out with his fiance, Rand.

Night Court is the rebooted sequel of the 80s and early 90s sitcom of the same name. The series' pilot episode came only on January 17, 2022, and was renewed for a second season in just three weeks.

The reboot connects to the original series with Abby Stone who is the daughter of the original series' lead Judge Harry Stone played by Harry Anderson. Abby follows in he father's footsteps and becomes an unwavering judge herself. She works during the titular night court at a Manhattan criminal court and presides over weird cases with weirder people.

Melissa Rauch also serves as an executive producer alongside Winstone Rauch and Dan Rubin, with the former also serving as the writer of the series. The rest of the cast includes India de Beaufort and Lacretta.

Season 1 is currently available to stream on Peacock.
