The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the shortlists in ten categories for the upcoming 96th Oscars ceremony. Greta Gerwig's directorial Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles, has received five nominations in sound, original song, and original score. Following Barbie, Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon has secured the four nods.
In the category of original songs, Barbie has received three nominations for the songs I'm Just Ken (Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt), What I Was Made For? (Billie Eilish), and Dance the Night (Dua Lipa).
The ten shortlisted categories include International Feature Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound, Original Score, Original Song, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, and Visual Effects.
