Netflix released the trailer of its upcoming film The Kitchen, which is set to stream from January 19, 2024.
Set in a dystopian London, the drama will explore the themes of community, inequality, family, resilience, defiance and care. With social housing as the central theme and conflict, the film will mirror the jarring difference between the rich and poor.
The trailer very much sticks to showing the plot of the dystopian London which has no place for social housing. While on one side is a community that does not want to leave the place they call home, on the other is repressing that is mounting on a large scale.
The film stars Kane Robinson, Jedaiah Bannerman, Hope Ikpoku Jr, Teija Kabs, Demmy Ladipo, Cristale and BackRoad Gee. It is directed by actor Daniel Kaluuya in his directorial debut, along with Kibwe Tavares. The Kitchen is written by Daniel along with Joe Murtagh.
