Elvis Presley was nervous and insecure, reveals Priscilla Presley

Legendary musician Elvis Presley's ex-wife Priscilla Presley has shared that he was "nervous and insecure" about his performances.

The 78-year-old actor, who was married to the late music legend for six years between 1967 and 1973, has opened up about the former couple's relationship ahead of the release of Sofia Coppola's new film Priscilla which tells her life story, reports Female First UK.

She revealed the late King of Rock 'n' Roll was constantly seeking reassurance because he was worried he wasn't good enough.

She told Fox 32, "People wouldn’t believe that he was nervous when he would do a show like in Vegas. Every show that he came out was, ‘How was I? Was I okay? Did it come out?' …. He was insecure and wanted to make sure that he was okay, which is hard to believe.”

Meanwhile Sofia Coppola’s new film Priscilla is now running in theatres. Based on Priscilla Presley's memoir, Elvis and Me, the upcoming film stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley, while Jacob Elordi plays Elvis.

The memoir talks about her relationship with the superstar singer, spanning her marriage, the birth of their daughter, the fights they had, and the eventual divorce until Elvis' death. Priscilla first met Elvis when she was 14 years old, serving in the German army in 1959. She moved to the United States and was married to him for ten years until their divorce in 1973.

The biopic has a script, which Sofia Coppola adapted from Priscilla Presley's memoir Elvis and Me. Distributed by A24, the film is produced by Sofia Coppola, Lorenzo Mieli, and Youree Henley.

Apart from the leading duo, Priscilla also features Dagmara Domińczyk, Raine Monroe Boland, Emily Mitchell, Jorja Cadence, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, and Luke Humphrey.
