Pixar to release Luca, Soul and Turning Red in theatres

Pixar's 3 animated films Luca, Soul and Turning Red, which had OTT debuts due to the pandemic, are all set to be released in theatres. The three films are set to hit the big screens in 2024.

Tickets for the same will start going on sale from January 2. While Soul is released on January 12, Turning Red is slated for February 9 and Luca is scheduled for March 22. Pixar will also release the short films Burrow, Kitbull and For the Birds, with the respective films.

Despite its non-theatrical release, Soul, helmed by Pete Docter and Kemp Powers, won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Music Written for a Motion Picture. The film's original score was handled by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Baptiste.

Turning Red was initially scheduled for a theatrical release on March 11, 2022, but was later pulled back. The film was helmed by Domee Shi and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Pic earlier this year.

Similarly, Enrico Casarosa's directorial, Luca, also received a nomination for an animated feature Oscar. The film will be released alongside Lionsgate's Arthur The King next year. All three releases will pave the way for the release of Inside Out 2, which is scheduled for June 14, 2024.
