Trailer of True Detective: Night Country out

Earlier, we reported that the crime anthology series True Detective is back with a new instalment titled True Detective: Night Country. Starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, the trailer of the series was unveiled on Monday.

The trailer starts by showing Jodie Foster as a detective embarking upon a new missing case, where 8 men, including a scientist, has gone missing in a freezing Alaskan town. To solve the case, she pairs up with another detective, played by Kali Reis. However, they seem to have a bitter past together. How they manage to solve the case despite their differences forms the story.

The filming for the series reportedly took place in Iceland over nine months. The snowy landscape of Iceland has doubled for Alaska in the series.

The series was originally created by writer/director Nic Pizzolatto for HBO. The first season featured Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in the leads and was directed by No Time to Die fame Cary Joji Fukunaga. Issa López serves as showrunner, writer, and director of True Detective: Night Country. It is the first season without series creator Pizzolatto as showrunner or writer, but he still serves as an executive producer.

The series is set to premiere on Max on January 14, 2024.
