Trailer of Zack Snyder Rebel Moon Part 1, A Child of Fire, is here, part 2 gets a release date

On Tuesday, Netflix dropped the trailer of part 1 of Zack Snyder's much-hyped epic space opera film Rebel Moon, titled A Child of Fire. While the first part is scheduled for a release on December 22, the streamer has also announced that part 2, titled, The Scargiver, will be released on April 19, 2024. 

The film is based on a screenplay that Snyder co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. The director had earlier mentioned that the upcoming film is inspired by Star Wars and Akira Kurosawa's films. 

The official synopsis of Rebel Moon says, "A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent."

Netflix has produced the film in collaboration with Grand Electric along with Zack Snyder and his wife Deborah Snyder's production house, The Stone Quarry.

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Sofia Boutella, Fra Fee, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, Cleopatra Coleman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Sky Yang among others.
