Taiki Waititi is already working on Thor 5 

While there has been no official announcement regarding the development of Thor 5, director Taika Waititi is already working on the script for the fifth installment. This confirms that the filmmaker is still interested to work on a Thor film despite the lukewarm response to his earlier outing Thor: Love and Thunder. 

While he acknowledges that there is nowhere for the character to go presently, Thor still has to evolve in a fun way. He further expresses the need for an antagonist stronger than Thor's sister Hela, portrayed by Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok. 

Chris Hemsworth has also expressed his interest to return for the role of Thor. In a recent interaction with the press, he said, "If an audience wants to see it, and if there’s something that we believe is exciting and fun, then great. I’ve loved being able to reinvent that character a few times. I don’t have the answer yet, but I would love to try and [figure out] how we can do that again and keep it a little unpredictable."
