The Peripheral cancelled after first season 

Prime Video has cancelled the second season of The Peripheral series after renewing it for a new season back in February. As per reports, the ongoing writers' and actors' strike has fuelled the cancellation.

Based on the William Gibson novel of the same name, the first season debuted on Amazon on Oct 21, 2022. The series stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Jack Reynor, Gary Carr, Eli Goree, Louis Herthum, JJ Feild, T’Nia Miller, Charlotte Riley, Alexandra Billings, and Adelind Horan, among others.

The Peripheral was set in a futuristic backdrop with technology dominating the world. With the central character as games Flynne Fisher, the show chronicles the adventure of the protagonist who goes to help brother in a game and gets drawn into an alternate reality. The first season opened to positive reception.

The series showrunner is Scott B Smith. He developed the series and served as executive producer. It’s produced by Amazon Studios and Warner Bros.
