The final and fourth season of Netflix series Sex Education may be coming to an end. But the creator of the show, Laurie Nunn, has not ruled out the possibilities of extending the series universe.

Speaking to Netflix Tudum, Laurie who will be serving as the writer of the upcoming season, said, "I’m definitely taking a break and thinking about other things. But Moordale is a really rich world, and writing about teenagers is always a lot of fun. So, I think that there’s always potential for more to be explored in that world.”

The fourth season has already been buzzing as some of the central cast announced their departure from the series in further seasons, including Emma Mackey, and Ncuti Gatwa. Ahead of the fourth season filming, a few have already bid their adieu, including Simone Ashley, Tanya Reynolds, Patricia Allison, and Rakhee Thakrar.

Sex Education also has major casting shifts as a new addition to the cast, including Jodie Turner-Smith, Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham, Marie Reuther, Alexandra James, Anthony Lexa, Felix Mufti, and Imani Yahshua.

The returning cast of the series includes Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson Connor Swindells, Alistair Petrie, Kedar Williams-Stirling, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Mimi Keene, and Samantha Spiro. The fourth season of Sex Education will premiere on September 21.
