Two decades since the release of stop motion animated adventure comedy film Chicken Run, a sequel of the film, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is in works at Netflix. The streaming platform recently took to social media to reveal the voice cast of the upcoming film.
The voice cast includes Thandiwe Newton as Ginger, Zachary Levi as Rocky, Bella Ramsey as Molly, Jane Horrocks as Babs, Imelda Staunton as Bunty, Lynn Ferguson as Mac, Josie Sedgwick-Davies as Frizzle, David Bradley as Fowler, among others.
The 2000 film centred around a group of chickens who try all means to escape from the farm owners with the intention to turn them into meat. The film was a commercial success and was directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park.
The official synopsis of the sequel reads, "When a new threat to all of chicken-kind surfaces across the water from their island sanctuary, Ginger, Rocky and the rest of their poultry pals embark on an epic quest to set things right."
The new film will be directed by Sam Fell and is expected to debut on Netflix sometime later this year.
