Monica Barbaro to join Bob Dylan's biopic?

We know that a biopic of American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan titled,  A Complete Unknown, is in the making, with actor Timothee Chalamet to essay the lead role. The latest update is that Monica Barbaro, who is best known for Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick, is in talks to join the cast of the film. 

A Complete Unknown will be directed by James Mangold, with a script written by Mangold along with Jay Cocks. Mangold will also be credited as the producer of the film. 

Set at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, the story follows a young Dylan experimenting with electric in folk music. The move causes confusion among his fans, but the decision improves his career as he records some of the greatest albums and songs. 

According to Deadline, Monica Barbaro will play folk singer and activist Joan Baez. Earlier reports suggested that the film would go on floors in August. 

Meanwhile, Monica Barbaro gained broad recognition for her role in the 2021 film The Cathedral. The actor's other acting credits include, At Midnight, I'm Charlie Walker and Stumptown, among others.
