With the ongoing CinemaCon making several announcements concerning the entertainment industry, Universal unveiled the trailer of the first installment from The Exorcist trilogy titled The Exorcist: Believer.
The upcoming film was announced in 2023 and will be helmed by David Gordon Green, with Ellen Burstyn reprising her role from the 1973 classic. Leslie Odom Jr will be playing the role of the two possessed girls.
The original film was based on the novel by William Peter Blatty, and went on to become a cult classic in the history of horror genre. The film featured Jason Miller, Max von Sydow, Lee J. Cobb, Kitty Winn, Jack MacGowran, and Father William O'Malley.
The Exorcist: Believer will feature Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Olivia Marcum, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles, and Okwui Okpokwasili among others. It will be backed by Jason Blum along with James Robinson and David Robinson. The film is expected to release on October 13.
