James McAvoy to star in Speak No Evil remake

Blumhouse, the horror film studio is developing the remake of the Danish psychological horror-thriller Speak No Evil. Actor James McAvoy is all set to star in the film, which is slated to hit theatres on August 9, 2024. 

The Danish original, Speak No Evil, follows a Danish family, who are invited to visit a Dutch family they met and connected with on a vacation. Their weekend visit to the Netherlands begins normally but quickly turns dark. The Danish family tries to stay polite while they face unpleasantry. 

James Watkins will direct the Speak No Evil remake from a self-written script, based on the screenplay by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. McAvoy is the only cast member of the remake of  Speak No Evil. 

James McAvoy is known for his performance in a few films of the X-Men series,  The Last King of Scotland, and Atonement. He will next be seen in The Book of Clarence alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and LaKeith Stanfield. Watkins previously helmed The Ipcress File, a spy thriller series set in the 60s. Currently,
