The final and fourth season of American teen drama Never Have I Ever is set to premiere on June 8. Ahead of the release, the makers tip off on what to expect from the final season of the show.
In an interview with The Warp, Lang Fisher, one of the creators of the show along with Mindy Kaling, said, "I think there’s gonna be a subset of people who are disappointed because, you know, the love triangle comes to an end and decisions are made. But I hope that we did it in a way that even people who may have lost in some sense, feel like they won. I think we did a good job... But because of that, I do feel like we have created a monster that is really 50/50, and people feel very strongly.”
Never Have I Ever follows school student Devi Vishwakumar, who navigates through friendships, romance, ambitions, as she tackles and balances between her American lifestyle and conservation Indian ancestry at home.
Besides the regular cast comprising of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, Jaren Lewison, Darren Barnet, the new season will also feature new entrant Michael Cimino who will play the role of Ethan, an important aspect in Devi’s life.
Lang also said how executives at Netflix had differed from the ending planned, but finally gave in to it. "I do think it was funny because our Netflix execs had picked sides, and there was like a 50/50, and when we told them what we’re gonna do, some of them were disappointed. But then when they saw the season, they were like, ‘We agree, we agree, and it’s good,’ and so that’s what I hope [happens] for fans when they watch,” she was quoted as saying.
