Second trailer of Beau is Afraid out

Following the behind-the-scenes snippets of  Ari Aster's upcoming film Beau is Afraid, A24 dropped the second trailer of the film on Wednesday. The film, formerly titled Disappointment Blvd, stars Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role. The film will be released in theatres on April 21.

Like the film's first trailer, the second trailer also opens with the voice-over of Beau's (Joaquin Phoenix) mother. The trailer gives the idea that the film follows Phoneix's character. The trailer also hints that the film seems to be a psychological exploration of Beau's relationship with his mom and his ongoing battle with depression through various stages of his life.

Here is the trailer

Besides Joaquin Phoenix, Beau is Afraid stars an ensemble cast including Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zoe Lister-Jones, Armen Nahapetian, with Parker Posey and Patti LuPone.

Meanwhile, Aster is best known for exploring psychological themes, often through the lens of the horror genre. His critically acclaimed works include Hereditary and Midsommar. Meanwhile, Phoenix is currently attached to star in the sequel to Todd Philips' Joker.
