Rumours suggest that Netflix is reportedly eyeing critically acclaimed filmmaker Greta Gerwig to direct their feature-length adaptation of the Chronicles of Narnia books. According to rumours, Netflix is developing two films from the seven-part book series. The fantasy book series was written by British author C S Lewis and was first published in the 1950s.
The Narnia series first received its feature-length adaptation in 2005 with The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, directed by Andrew Adamson. After three more films, the studio abandoned plans to expand the franchise following lackluster reception.
Greta Gerwig is an actor, screenwriter, and director best known for films like Little Women and Lady Bird. She is currently directing a film adaptation of the popular toy franchise Barbie with Margot Robbie in the lead along with Ryan Gosling.
