Gary Oldman to make a cameo in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer seems to be having an ever-growing list of stars. The newest addition to the cast is Gary Oldman. The actor will be making a small appearance in the upcoming biopic.

Though there are no details about his role, it is learnt that The actor will be shooting for the film in May. Oldman is joining a star-studded cast that includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Jack Quaid, Michael Angarano, Alden Ehrenreich, Kenneth Branagh, Matthew Modine, and Josh Peck. 

Oldman had previously played Commissioner Gordon in Nolan's Batman trilogy. Oldman is famous for his roles in The Fifth Element, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Leon The Professional, Air Force One, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Mank, the Harry Potter franchise, and Darkest Hour, which fetched him an Oscar for his performance as Winston Churchill.

Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. The film will follow the life of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Murphy, and his work that led to the creation of the atomic bomb. Nolan is also producing the project with his long-time partner Emma Thomas.

Oppenheimer is set to release exclusively in theatres on July 21, 2023.
