Sylvester Stallone regrets being an absentee father and focusing too much on his career

In a recent interview, Sylvester Stallone expressed his regret at being an absentee father and instead focusing too much on his career. The actor is currently doing the promotional rounds for his upcoming television series Tulsa King. Stallone will be making his television debut with the series where he plays a mob boss.

In the interview, he also talked about his struggle with drug addiction and how he managed to overcome it, how he reconciled with his wife, and how he learned to bond more with his daughters. The actor made his debut with the critically and commercially acclaimed Rocky film and then went on to star in several action-oriented franchises like Rocky and the Expendables. He was one of the most prominent action movies stars in the 80s along with Arnold Schwarzenegger. One of the things that made him stand apart from other action heroes was the fact that he did his own stunts.

He cites doing his own stunts as the reason he stayed away from home for long periods. He said, “Don’t do your own stunts, that’s the moral of that. But the special effects became more important than the person. Life is a matter of managing your ass-whipping”

The Rocky spinoff series Creed 3 will be the first film in the franchise to not have an appearance from Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky. Even though the actor won’t be appearing on screen as Rocky, he will still be producing the film. Talking about the Rocky character, which he portrayed for more than four decades he said, “I’ve always been a fan of defeated fighters. The undefeated boxer? I’m not interested.”

Tulsa King is currently scheduled for a streaming release on 13 November 2022. The series stars an ensemble cast that includes Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany, and Annabella Sciorra.
